2024 Intelligent Connected Electric Vehicle Industry Innovation Exchange Meeting Successfully Held in Xiong'an
The 2024 Scientist Innovation Conference, co-hosted by the Chinese Society for Electrical Engineering and relevant organizations, was successfully held in Xiong'an from 12/13 to 15, 2024. The conference theme, "Driving New Quality Productive Forces through Technological Innovation," focused on the latest achievements and trends in technological innovation across multiple fields, providing scientists with a broad platform for exchange and collaboration.

As a parallel session of the 2024 Scientist Innovation Conference, organized by the Beijing Intelligent Connected Vehicle Technology Development Center and supported by the China Association of Automobile Manufacturers, the 2024 Intelligent Connected Electric Vehicle Industry Innovation Forum was held concurrently. The forum was attended by distinguished leaders and experts, including Academician Chen Qingquan of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and founder of the World Electric Vehicle Association, and Han Yi, Secretary-General of the China Society for Electrical Engineering. More than 80 industry experts, entrepreneurs from the automotive, communications, and transportation sectors, and researchers in intelligent connected vehicles from universities participated. The forum was moderated by Wang Cheng, senior engineer at CATARC.
Forum special guests Geng Lei, former Chief Engineer of China Automotive Technology and Research Center; Li Jianhua, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Beijing Yizhi Times Digital Technology Co., Ltd.; and Gao Fei, Executive Dean of the China Intelligent Connected Electric Vehicle Industry Development Institute and Partner of the Industry Fund, delivered keynote speeches on "Exploring the Development of Intelligent Connected Electric Vehicles," "Exploring the Application of Digital Twins in the Intelligent Connected Electric Vehicle Sector," and "Reshaping the Global Landscape of China's Intelligent Connected Electric Vehicle Industry—Opportunities and Challenges for Industrial Capital."
Academician Chen Qingquan presented the evolution of electric vehicles to intelligent connected electric vehicles, offering in-depth analysis of vehicle-to-everything (V2X) technologies, sensors, and the integration of humans, vehicles, roads, and cloud systems. He urged researchers to focus on core technologies, drive innovation, strengthen collaboration, and prioritize talent development. With an open, cooperative, and inclusive approach, he called for accelerating the growth of China's intelligent connected electric vehicle industry.

In his remarks, Secretary-General Han Yi stated that the China Society for Electrical Engineering (CSOE) has long leveraged its unique resources to make significant contributions to the development of electric vehicle technology in China. As a new industry, intelligent connected vehicles represent a platform for deep integration and technological collaboration across the automotive, electrical and electronics, and information and communications sectors, creating new application scenarios. The Society will actively promote the deep fusion of electrical engineering technologies with intelligent connected vehicle innovations, collaborate closely with professionals in this field, and contribute to the high-quality development of the intelligent connected electric vehicle industry.
Professor Geng Lei, former Chief Engineer of the China Automotive Technology and Research Center, discussed industry technological transformation, core technology development, emerging automotive systems, and socialized intelligent vehicle roadmaps from the perspective of intelligent connected electric vehicle (ICEV) industry technologies. He provided an in-depth overview of ICEV technologies, applications, management, and future prospects.

Li Jianhua, Founder, Chairman, and CEO of Beijing Yizhi Era Digital Technology Co., Ltd., presented on the applications and innovations of digital twins in the intelligent connected electric vehicle (ICEV) sector. He outlined the definition, value proposition, and product implementations of digital twins within intelligent connectivity. Through continuous exploration, optimization, evolution, and refinement, digital twin technology enables machine-to-machine connectivity, human-machine collaboration, and the fusion of virtual and physical realms. This drives comprehensive industry empowerment, fostering sustainable development of the ICEV industry through intelligence and personalization.

Gao Fei, Executive Dean of the China Intelligent Connected Electric Vehicle Industry Development Research Institute and Partner at the Industry Fund, outlined the opportunities and challenges for industrial capital in reshaping the global landscape of intelligent connected electric vehicles. He covered key dimensions including: new species driving new industries, ecosystem building and synergies, current trends in industrial capital inflows, market expansion and global influence, and strategic responses from industrial capital.
Experts, entrepreneurs, and researchers from universities specializing in intelligent connected vehicles engaged in thematic discussions. Participants freely shared their diverse perspectives and recommendations on innovation within the intelligent connected electric vehicle industry. Together, they analyzed root causes of challenges, explored solutions, and reached a consensus on driving industrial innovation and development.
